DraughTec Designs the UK's First Carbon Negative School.

DraughTec in assocation with Envirohomes have successfully designed the UK's first Carbon Negative School. Haydon Bridge High School's new 240m2 Science and Sixth Form Block was installed and water tight within 12 hrs of arriving at site and was installed during the school term with minimum disruption.


The new school consists of seven steel framed modules which were shipped to site by road and where installed with the majority of fixtures and fittings as well as the complete wall system which is made up of insualtion, brick or cedar cladding which gives a U value of 0.115.


The school also has a unique heating system. With the combination of the heating system, roof and wall system the building as been awarded the highest possible accreditation of A+ rating.
